How Baton Rouge Epoxy Flooring Works

Baton Rouge Epoxy Flooring installs resinous coatings on concrete: garage floors, carports, shop and warehouse floors, interior slabs, covered patios, porches and pool decks across Baton Rouge and the parishes around it. Our systems are epoxy, polyaspartic, full-broadcast flake and metallic epoxy, and we choose among them only after we have looked at your slab and tested it.

South Louisiana is hard on coatings for a plain reason: water. The air in Baton Rouge averages close to 74% relative humidity across the year, rain falls on more than a hundred days, and many slabs sit on low, flat ground that has flooded before. Most floor failures we hear about here started as moisture problems, either vapor pushing up through the concrete or a coat rolled on while the slab was too close to the dew point. That is why a moisture reading comes before any talk of colors, and why it goes on paper.

What a visit looks like

  • We measure the space and test the concrete for moisture in more than one spot.
  • We look for oil, old paint or sealer, cracks, spalled joints, low spots and any watermark from past flooding.
  • We ask how you use the floor: two cars, a bass boat, a home gym, a forklift, a pool party crowd.
  • Your written quote spells out the chosen system, every coat, the prep steps and one bottom-line figure.

What install day looks like

  • We diamond grind the slab, which opens up sound concrete for the resin to grab instead of a slick surface.
  • Cracks get filled, damaged joint edges get rebuilt, and both are ground flush.
  • Before each coat we check air temperature, humidity and slab temperature. If the slab is not safely above the dew point, we wait or move the date.
  • Coats go on in the order the quote lists, with flake, metallic pigment or anti-slip grit where you chose it.
  • Before we pack up, you hear how long until foot traffic is fine and how long until cars or equipment can return.

Why we work this way

A coating is only as good as its bond, and the bond is set by the prep and the conditions on the day. We would rather spend an extra hour grinding, or shift an install to a drier morning, than hand you a floor that peels in the first wet August. The written estimate is the price, and it spells out the work behind it.
